“Our faces are mirrors for others to find their own.”
That sentence reflects a development in my own life over time. I hope that I’m a person with whom others find they can let down the walls, let their barriers crumble, with whom they don’t have to hide anything or behind anything, and can be just who they are. I’ve given up judging people (except professionally, because I need the paycheck), so don’t worry about what I’ll think. Come sit at my lunch table. Let’s hang out.
P.S. Thanks for inviting me to sit at your lunch table over the years, Aimee.
Congrats on entering the degree program, Aimee! I started working toward my M.A. in New Testament Studies at Northern Seminary two years ago, a few weeks before my 51st birthday. I graduate next June. It's never too late!
From your writing i see that the Lord has made "the Valley of Achor (trouble) a door of hope," (Hos. 2:15).
50 was a pivotal year for me. I gained renewed confidence in realizing that I had experienced much and came to a deeper understanding of who God made me to be. And I am still learning at 71!
Love to hear it! I went back to school for my MA in Counseling Psychology at age 43, am 45 now and halfway through it...cheers to following the call in our hearts!
Happy 49th. Turning 50 was a pivotal time in my life too. Now I’m 64 and have dived into writing. We are never too old to venture into unknown challenging territories. That’s where we actually grow the most. I love your authenticity and I love your pants. I just bought a pair of bright pink pants. At first I thought, am I old to old for these? Nope. Doesn’t matter what others think, I love them. And my three daughter in laws do too!
I started the CMHC process nearly 6 years ago after the deconstruction that so many of us go through. I'm inches from full licensure now and its been the best journey, with the best people along the way.
Happy Bday Aimee! Keep up your work. At ETS-SBL last mo there were so many women going back and getting degrees. It was great to see. I think you should pack a suitcase of groovy pants and head to Boston next fall for the camaraderie! Looking forward to your next book. 😎

It's been a pleasure to bump elbows, Tim.
I love this. Hi Tim!
Hayley Rose! How’s it going?
Good! We never connected after emailing- shall we actually do that and stop spamming Aimee's comments? :)
This is what I mean about the great community here!
Yep!

Thank you Aimee, your words (and pants) are an inspiration. I have a feeling doors will keep opening for you....

That is great!
I'd love to connect sometime. I think our work is similar in many ways

Those conferences could use some groovy pants ;)
At just-turned-48, I these words are just what I need! Are just where I’m at. Thank you for sharing.
